Arrest of dangerous wanted suspect after 11 years of murder and escape
(Baonghean.vn) - Hoang Van Trung (residing in Nghi An, Vinh City) and another subject used a knife to slash one person to death, seriously injuring another, then escaped for 11 years.
On April 25, information from the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Province Police said that the unit had just coordinated with Thanh Xuan District Police, Hanoi City to arrest a wanted person after 11 years of fleeing the locality. That person is Hoang Van Trung (born in 1983, residing in Hamlet 3, Nghi An Commune, Vinh City).
In 2009, due to a conflict with Mr. Thach Quang Vu (residing in Nghi Truong commune, Nghi Loc district), Thach Quang Thai (residing in Nghi An commune, Vinh city, Nghe An) discussed a plan with 6 other subjects including Hoang Van Trung to "deal with" Mr. Vu.

At around 1:00 p.m. on July 21, 2009, knowing that Mr. Vu was drinking beer at Mr. Thach Quang Hai's house (residing in Nghi Truong commune, Nghi Loc district), a group of people brought weapons to the house. The two sides struggled, and at this time, Hoang Van Trung and another person used a knife to slash Mr. Vu and Hai. As a result, Mr. Thach Quang Vu died on the way to the emergency room, and Mr. Thach Quang Hai was injured.
After committing the crime, the suspects were arrested and surrendered to the police, while Hoang Van Trung escaped. On July 27, 2009, Nghe An police issued a nationwide arrest warrant for Trung for murder.
After a period of silence, Hoang Van Trung left no trace. However, information about this subject is always monitored and collected by detectives of the Wanted and Search Team of the Criminal Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police).
In early April 2020, the Wanted and Search Team received information that Hoang Van Trung was possibly hiding in Hanoi. The Wanted and Search Team asked for direction from the Department's leaders to send a working group to verify and capture the subject. After a short period of verification, the working group coordinated with the Thanh Xuan District Police, Hanoi City to successfully arrest Hoang Van Trung after 11 years of hiding and extradited him to Nghe An.
Currently, the Nghe An Police Investigation Agency is completing procedures to handle the subject in accordance with the provisions of law.
