Vinh Diocese congratulates Buddha's birthday

On the afternoon of May 6, a delegation from the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Office led by Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long visited and congratulated the Provincial Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on the occasion of the 2020 Buddha's Birthday.
On behalf of the Bishop's Office, priests, monks and nuns and parishioners in the province, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long wished the members of the Executive Committee, monks, nuns and Buddhists in the province a joyful and happy Buddha's birthday, and to strengthen solidarity with people of all religions in the province, contributing to building an increasingly strong national unity bloc in the locality.

In response to the sentiments of Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac - Deputy Standing Committee of the Provincial Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha thanked the Vinh Diocese Bishopric for visiting and congratulating him on the occasion of Buddha's birthday in 2020 - Buddhist calendar 2564.
At the same time, the information that this year's Buddha's Birthday takes place at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic in the world and in the country has complicated developments, responding to the call of the President, the Directive of the Prime Minister, the guiding document of the Board of Trustees on epidemic prevention and control, the Board of Trustees has instructed pagodas and Buddhist establishments in the area not to organize flower car processions, not to organize art programs, large gatherings... to ensure the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The Buddha's Birthday celebration program of the Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee will be held at 9:00 a.m. on May 7 with a concise program content, no more than 30 people gathered, the entire program will be reported on social networks.
