On the morning of May 11, the Party Committee of the Department of Industry and Trade held the 3rd Congress of Delegates for the 2020-2025 term to evaluate the implementation of the Resolution for the 2015-2020 term, discuss and propose orientations, goals, tasks and solutions for the new term. Attending the meeting was comrade Chu Ba Long - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies.

Complete the congress goals
The political report of the Executive Committee for the 2015 - 2020 term presented at the congress affirmed the comprehensive leadership and direction role of the Party Committee of the Department of Industry and Trade. With the efforts of all cadres and party members, the Party Committee and the collective leadership of the industry have achieved great results.perform well the function of advising on state management; lead and direct the Industry and Trade sector to complete the goals and targets set by the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the Department Party Congress, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the province; the Party Committee unites, improves the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; the Party Committee always completes its tasks well.

Industrial production value has grown quite well, in the period of 2016-2020 it is estimated to increase by 18.6% (target of 17-18%); increasing rapidly from 38,639 billion VND in 2016 to 68,049 billion VND in 2019; estimated to reach 80,000 billion VND in 2020/resolution target of 78,757 billion VND. The internal structure of the industrial sector continues to shift rapidly and in the right direction. The proportion of the processing and manufacturing industry is increasing and the proportion of the mining and mineral processing industry is gradually decreasing. Investment in the development of advantageous industries has been identified and focused. The small-scale industry and craft villages continue to receive attention and direction for development. Up to now, the whole province has 164 craft villages and nearly 450 craft villages recognized by the province.
For the trade sector, total retail sales of goods increased by an average of 11.8%/year/plan 11-12% (in 2016 it reached 42,702 billion VND, in 2019 it reached 63,400 billion VND, in 2020 it is expected to reach 70,000 billion VND).

Total export turnover in the province has grown quite well, from 847.6 million USD in 2016 to 1,145 million USD in 2019, striving to reach 1,200 million USD in 2020, achieving an average growth rate of 11.39%/year; in which goods export from 569 million USD in 2016 to 795 million USD in 2019 and expected to reach 850 million USD in 2020; achieving the resolution target.
The quality of public service activities such as industrial promotion and consultancy, trade promotion, energy saving, appraisal of basic designs of investment projects to build industrial and commercial development works... continues to receive attention and achieve high efficiency.
Good control of the market and prices, preventing hot spots of smuggling, counterfeit goods and trade fraud, contributes to stabilizing the market, creating conditions for production development and protecting consumer rights.

Making Nghe An a commercial center of the North Central region
The goal for the next term of the Department of Industry and Trade Party Committee is to focus on building a clean and strong Party Committee in conjunction with directing the industry to excellently fulfill its assigned functions and tasks. The proportion of industry and construction in GDP will increase from 34 - 35% in 2020 to 39 - 40% in 2025. The average industrial growth rate at 2010 constant prices will reach 14-15% per year; by 2025, the industrial production value will reach 165,000 billion VND. Total retail sales of goods will reach 112,000 billion VND, an average increase of 11-12% per year. Export turnover will reach 1.65 billion USD, of which the export turnover of goods will reach 1.2 billion USD, an average increase of 13-14% per year. The Party Committee strives to fulfill its tasks well and excellently every year.
