Tofu selling couple hacked to death by drug addict in their home
While making tofu at home, a couple was attacked by a man who appeared to be high on drugs.
Mr. Bui Van Duc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Huong commune, Ninh Giang district (Hai Duong) confirmed that a knife attack had just occurred in the area, seriously injuring a couple selling tofu in the Ga area (village 5).
The perpetrator is Nguyen Thanh Phong (born 1985), residing in village 7, Tan Huong commune.
At about 3:30 p.m. yesterday, Phong rode his motorbike to the house of Dao Quang Thiep (born in 1985, from Bac Ninh). Mai Thi Le (born in 1985), Thiep's wife, was sitting inside making tofu.
As soon as he entered the house, Phong suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed Mr. Thiep repeatedly.
Seeing her husband being stabbed, Ms. Le ran out to hug the suspect and called for help, but Phong turned around and slashed her many times with a knife.
Mr. Thiep and Ms. Le both collapsed on the spot.

Mr. Thiep and his wife were taken to the Ninh Giang District Medical Center for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of their injuries, they were both transferred to the Provincial General Hospital.
The room was then controlled by the commune police and handed over to the district police for handling.
The Chairman of Tan Huong Commune People's Committee said that Phong was a drug addict. At the time of the crime, the subject showed signs of being high on drugs./.
