Nghe An Industry and Trade increases solutions to promote industrial and commercial development
(Baonghean) - In the past term, despite facing many difficulties, with efforts to overcome difficulties, the activities of the Department of Industry and Trade Party Committee achieved many positive results. The achieved targets of the industry have contributed to completing the goals of the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress, the Resolution of the Department of Industry and Trade Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term.

Comrade Hoang Van Tam - Party Committee Secretary, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: During the past term, the Party Committee has focused on leading cadres and party members to uphold the sense of responsibility, proactively advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue many important policies, mechanisms and strategies, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management; proposing specific and timely solutions to create a favorable environment for socio-economic development, making an important contribution to the successful implementation of the targets set by the 18th Provincial Party Congress.
The Department of Industry and Trade has advised the Provincial People's Committee to promulgate planning; long-term, 5-year and annual plans, guidelines, policies, many important programs and projects in areas under the management of the industry.

Industrial production value has grown quite well, estimated to increase by 18.6% in the 2016-2020 period (target of 17-18%); rapidly increasing from 38,639 billion VND in 2016 to 68,049 billion VND in 2019; estimated to reach 80,000 billion VND in 2020/resolution target of 78,757 billion VND. The internal structure of the industrial sector continues to shift rapidly and in the right direction.
The proportion of the processing and manufacturing industry is increasing and the proportion of the mining and mineral processing industry is decreasing. We have identified and focused on investing in developing advantageous industries. The value of processed and manufactured industrial products in 2019 accounted for about 70% of the total industrial production value.
The beverage industry; construction materials production; high-tech industry; textile industry; mineral exploitation; electricity and water production and distribution have all developed. Some key products such as cement, corrugated iron, beer, milk, textiles, MDF wood, various construction bricks, electricity, fertilizers... have achieved quite good results compared to the beginning of the term.

In the trade sector, total retail sales of goods increased by an average of 11.8%/year/plan 11-12% (in 2016 it reached 42,702 billion VND, in 2019 it reached 63,400 billion VND, in 2020 it is expected to reach 70,000 billion VND). Total export turnover in the province grew quite well, from 847.6 million USD in 2016 to 1,145 million USD in 2019, striving to reach 1,200 million USD in 2020, achieving an average growth rate of 11.39%/year; in which goods export from 569 million USD in 2016 to 795 million USD in 2019 and expected to reach 850 million USD in 2020; achieving the resolution target.

Making industry a developed economic sector by 2025
During the past term, the Party Committee of the Department of Industry and Trade united, improved the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; the Party Committee always fulfilled its tasks well. In the coming term, the Party Committee of the Department of Industry and Trade will focus on building a clean and strong Party Committee associated with directing the industry to excellently fulfill its assigned functions and tasks. The proportion of the industry and construction sector in GDP will increase from 34 - 35% in 2020 to 39 - 40% in 2025.
The average industrial growth rate at 2010 constant prices is 14-15%/year; strive to achieve 165,000 billion VND in industrial production value by 2025. Total retail sales of goods reach 112,000 billion VND, increasing by an average of 11-12%/year. Export turnover reaches 1.65 billion USD, of which export turnover of goods reaches 1.2 billion USD, increasing by an average of 13-14%/year. Strive for the Party Committee to successfully and excellently complete its tasks every year.

Comrade Hoang Van Tam - Party Secretary, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade added: To achieve the set goals, the Party Committee will closely follow the tasks of the industry to promptly develop and synchronously deploy solutions to make Nghe An industry a developed economic sector by 2025, contributing to the economic restructuring of the province towards industrialization and modernization. Build a civilized and modern trade sector with a strong focus on exports, making Nghe An a commercial center of the North Central region. Promote exports with a sustainable growth rate.

Strengthen investment promotion to attract investment in works and projects, especially projects applying high technology and effective environmental protection in the fields of industrial production and commercial infrastructure. Develop industries with high scientific and technological content, added value and high proportion of domestic value, energy saving and environmental protection.
Implementing 3 breakthroughs
Firstly, continue to promote administrative reform, creating a strong change in discipline, order, awareness, responsibility, and quality of service to the people. Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of the Industry and Trade sector in the new period.
Second, improve the quality, proactively advise and concretize the resolutions, guidelines and policies of the Party and the laws of the State to submit to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and Provincial People's Committee for promulgation to develop the Industry and Trade sector rapidly, strongly and firmly in the period of 2020-2025, with a vision to 2035.

The Party Congress of the Department of Industry and Trade for the 2020-2025 term is a Congress that demonstrates the will and aspirations of cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the entire industry in the new period. Cadres and party members uphold the spirit of responsibility, set good examples, unite and trust in the leadership of the Party, strive to well implement the directions and goals set by the Department Party Congress, enhance the role and position of the Party Committee, and contribute to building a strong agency and a strong industry.
