(Baonghean.vn) - Every time visitors visit the Kim Lien relic site (Nam Dan), they are impressed by the thatched roofs of Uncle Ho's hometown. These are simple, rustic houses that preserve dear memories of Uncle Ho's family and childhood.

For a long time, Uncle Ho's hometown has become the "common hometown" of the Vietnamese people - the village of simple houses, where the beloved Uncle Ho cried when he was born and spent his teenage years. Photo: Huy Thu
The entrance gates of these houses are usually bordered by large elm trees on both sides, and above them are often hung bamboo panels for opening and closing. The gate is made from the trunk of an elm tree, which is both durable and cool all year round. Photo: Huy Thu
The thatched houses in the Kim Lien relic site, including the house of Uncle Ho's mother in Sen village, the house of Mr. Hoang Duong in Tru village, and the houses of neighboring families, are all simple, low, dirt-floored houses made of wood, bamboo, thatched with sugarcane, with curtains hung in front to protect against rain and sun. Each family usually has a main house, a kitchen, a house for farming tools, livestock... Photo: Huy Thu
In the past, people in Uncle Ho's hometown often opened the gate on the right side of the house. The entrance to the gate was often planted with two rows of plum or hibiscus trees, which were trimmed very beautifully. In addition, there are also tools for traditional crafts such as looms for weaving or sugarcane covers for pressing molasses... Photo: Huy Thu

The house of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac, Uncle Ho's father in Sen village, was built by the villagers in 1901 to celebrate his passing the Phó bảng exam. This 5-room thatched house was associated with Uncle Ho's childhood from 1901 to 1906 (before following his father to Hue). In front of the house, the entrance gate has a row of hibiscus, a hedge of plum trees, a grapefruit tree and a guava tree. Photo: Huy Thu

The main doors of Uncle Ho's thatched houses often have large panels woven from bamboo to open and close when needed. Every day, these panels are pulled up and placed on the roof, creating an airy space for the houses. Photo: Huy Thu
