On the morning of May 18, the Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning launched a communication campaign integrating the provision of reproductive health care/family planning services and improving population quality in 2020.

The integrated communication campaign to provide reproductive health care/family planning services and improve population quality is a key activity of the annual Population - Family Planning work, aiming to implement the Population - Family Planning targets and promote population communication activities at the grassroots level.
In Nghe An this year, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the campaign implementation was slower than previous years and was not organized centrally. The whole province will deploy in 3 clusters in Hung Nguyen, Quynh Luu and Tan Ky districts.

Through this activity, we aim to innovate and improve the quality of communication activities and provide reproductive health care/family planning services in the campaign implementation areas.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Ba Tan - Head of the Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning said: 2020 is a special year for the Population sector. Therefore, in the context of general difficulties, localities need to be flexible in the process of implementing the campaign.
In particular, we will strengthen communication activities, consultation, innovation of communication content, communication channels and communication messages suitable for target groups. In particular, we will focus on priority groups in the campaign, which are: women of childbearing age, couples with only one daughter, areas with a large Catholic population, coastal areas, etc., issues of gender imbalance at birth, and consanguineous marriages to raise public awareness. We will increase the provision of information to Party committees and leaders at all levels.
In addition, choose to add technical services suitable for the district mobile team, integrate services to improve population quality such as: Prenatal ultrasound screening to detect fetal abnormalities and deformities; screening for breast cancer, cervical cancer, tests to detect some blood diseases such as anemia, Thalassemia, G6PD deficiency...

According to the plan, the communication campaign integrating the provision of reproductive health care/family planning services and improving population quality in 2020 will be implemented in 2 phases, ending before November 30, 2020.
This year, the provincial budget has supported more than 700 million VND to provide gynecological treatment drugs for 459/459 communes in the province. In addition, it has supported funding for medical examination and treatment for 18 communes with special difficulties.
