Nghe An: Dismantling a drug ring led by 'big shots'
(Baonghean.vn) - In one day at two locations, the task force dismantled a drug ring led by two notorious criminals with criminal records, seizing 1,226 synthetic drug pills.
The Vinh City Police Department, Nghe An Province, said that the unit has just successfully dismantled an illegal drug trafficking ring with reckless and daring participants. Two subjects were arrested and 1,226 synthetic drug pills were seized.
In early May 2020, through investigation, Vinh City Police discovered a drug trafficking ring with a large quantity, transported from Yen Thanh district to Vinh city for consumption and transit to the southern provinces.

The leader of this ring is Truong Van Duc (born 1980), residing in Cong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An. It is known that Duc is a notorious and extremely reckless subject and has a previous conviction for "Extortion of property". A special project was established to combat this.
Conducting verification and collecting documents, the Investigation Committee identified another subject in this network, Pham Xuan Huynh (born 1984), residing in Khanh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An.

After a period of monitoring, determining that the opportunity was ripe, the Task Force decided to crack the case. In the early morning of June 1, in Hamlet 12, Nghi Kim Commune, Vinh City, the task force caught Truong Van Duc red-handed for illegally buying and selling drugs. Confiscated at the scene were 200 synthetic drug pills and a car with license plate number 29S-5269.
At the same time, in My Khanh hamlet, Khanh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, another working group of Vinh City Police caught Pham Xuan Huynh red-handed for "illegally buying and selling drugs", seizing 1,026 synthetic drug pills.
At the investigation agency, the two subjects admitted their crimes. The case is currently under further investigation.
