(Baonghean.vn) – The 1-0 victory of the Nghe An team against SHB Da Nang in round 3 of V.League 2020 not only left a strong impression on midfielder Phan Van Duc, but this was also a very successful match for the young players who were trusted by coach Quang Truong for the first time to give them a chance.

Phan Van Duc - SLNA's number 1 star

After a year of injury, Phan Van Duc has just appeared in the starting lineup of SLNA in the V.League. In the match against B. Binh Duong, Van Duc also scored the only goal. And in this match, he continued to shine.

Phan Van Duc not only played well as a winger, creating countless clear scoring opportunities for Ho Tuan Tai, but also had the most dangerous opportunities. The most typical was the header that hit the crossbar in the first half. On the penalty spot, the player born in 1996 also showed his cunning when defeating Tuan Manh, bringing a valuable victory to SLNA.

More "young shoots" successfully launched

Coach Ngo Quang Truong and SLNA's coaching staff are showing their boldness by placing maximum trust in young players. If Van Lam - Dinh Chau are the youngest central midfielder duo in V.League 2020, then players Ngoc Anh, Dinh Tien, and Ba Sang have been on the field in the highest arena of Vietnamese football.

SHB Da Nang's midfield is inherently very strong, but Dinh Chau's physical strength, ability to move widely, and his fiery and diligent play helped SLNA's midfield not be at a disadvantage, and even excel with a ball possession rate of 52%.

Dinh Chau's blocking ability also forced SHB Da Nang to only have 5 shots, 2 of which were on target. Meanwhile, center back Ba Sang did a great job replacing Van Khanh, coordinating with Gustavo to lock down the two strikers Tanda and Akinade. Although only 1m76 tall, Ba Sang had jumps higher than the opponent's foreign players. The clean sheet achievement after 3 matches is clearly a positive sign.

With young player Tran Dinh Tien, the player born in 1998 was brought onto the field in the 70th minute, before scoring a goal and in the first touch, Dinh Tien took the ball and created an opportunity for Peter to face goalkeeper Tuan Manh's goal. This was an extremely impressive debut.

Foreign players and goals

Obviously, Coach Quang Truong has reason to be dissatisfied with SLNA's ability to convert chances into goals in this match, as well as in V.League 2020. After 3 matches, SLNA still has to depend on Van Duc's ability to score. Both goals scored by the Nghe An team were scored by him.

During the entire 90 minutes against SHB Da Nang, SLNA's strikers had a total of 16 shots but only 7 of them were on target and it was only thanks to a penalty when Quang Tinh committed a foul that SLNA was able to score.

If SLNA wants to maintain this achievement until the end of the first leg, SLNA's coaching board must definitely solve the problem of foreign players. After 3 matches, it is clear that Peter Samuel and Alagie Sosseh are almost harmless in terms of efficiency in finishing. Fortunately for SLNA, Peter Samuel also has the ability to sweep, compete and create for his teammates, while Alagie Sosseh (9) is really harmless.

Before SHB Da Nang, both Soseh and Peter had very clear opportunities. However, those were all shots that went wide. If counting all 3 matches in V.League 2020, SLNA launched a total of 32 shots, but only 11 of them were on target, 2 goals.

The shooting accuracy rate is only 34% and on average SLNA has to take 16 shots to score 1 goal. Unfortunately, both goals SLNA scored came from set pieces.

In fact, Alagie Sosseh, despite being a Swedish player, is 34 years old and does not have the physical strength to compete at the highest level in a harsh environment like V.League. When he was replaced by Dinh Tien, Tuan Tai and Peter as two strikers, the Nghe An team attacked more rhythmically and effectively.
