After the Bara Do Luong dam broke at 1 a.m. on June 7, the water flowing into the canal dropped 3.2 meters below normal. Because the water level dropped so low, the water pumping system from the canal of the Do Luong Water Supply Station in Dong Son commune could not operate.
Mr. Vo Dang Dung - Head of Do Luong Water Supply Station said: "Water cannot be pumped since 4:30 this morning, more than 7,800 households in 7 communes and Do Luong town using water from the station have no water for daily use. On average, we have to supply 4,800 m3 of water to serve the people every day".
