At Dung's parents' home, after a warm visit, the delegation presented a gift of 20 million VND to share the difficulties with her family. This gift was donated by officials, reporters and employees of Nghe An Newspaper in the recent past.

As Nghe An Newspaper reported in the article“The pitiful situation of the two sisters, father passed away from cancer, mother has brain tumor”, Dung's family is in a particularly difficult situation. Dung and her husband work as workers and start a business in the South. In February 2019, her husband passed away from liver cancer, leaving her to raise two children, Tran Thi Thu Thuy (born in 2007) and Tran Van Cong (born in 2009), alone.

The pain of losing her husband had not yet subsided when a few months later, Ms. Dung discovered she had brain cancer. Due to difficult circumstances, in August 2019, she had to send her two children back to her hometown for their grandparents to raise and educate. As for her, after being hospitalized three times at Cho Ray Hospital, her condition became increasingly worse, with blurred vision and memory loss, and her maternal relatives had to take her back to her hometown in Nghe An.

In early 2020, Ms. Dung was taken by her relatives to Hanoi for brain surgery at Viet Duc Hospital. After a re-examination, due to the lack of conditions to continue treatment at K Hospital - Hanoi, she was taken to the provincial hospital for treatment for a while, then sent home./.
