The pain of losing her husband had not yet subsided when a few months later, Dung was diagnosed with brain cancer. As for her, after being hospitalized three times at Cho Ray Hospital, her condition became more and more serious, her eyesight blurred, her memory lost, her maternal relatives had to take her back to her hometown in Nghe An.
In early 2020, Ms. Dung was taken by her relatives to Hanoi for brain surgery at Viet Duc Hospital. After a re-examination, due to the lack of conditions to continue treatment at K Hospital - Hanoi, she was taken to the provincial hospital for treatment for a while, then sent home.
Currently, Dung and her three children are relying on their maternal grandparents. The family is large (10 people), the grandparents are old and sick, so their situation is difficult. Thuy is in grade 7A, Thanh Mai Secondary School, and Cong is in grade 5B, Thanh Mai Primary School.
