Nghe An Newspaper contributor in Top 10 'Press photo moments of 2019'
(Baonghean.vn) - Author Nguyen Trung Kien (born in 1981) - photo collaborator of Nghe An newspaper is the only representative of the province honored to have 2 works in the top 10 and top 50 of "Press Moments 2019".
On the morning of June 12, at the International Convention Center (Hanoi), the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper organized the 2nd Press Gala - 2020 and the photo award ceremony "Press Moments 2019".
Nghe An is honored to have 2 works in the top 10 and top 50 of "Press Moments of 2019" by author Nguyen Trung Kien (born in 1981).

Graduated from Hanoi National University of Economics but chose to pursue a career in photography, for Nguyen Trung Kien that was a big turning point in his life when he decided to follow his passion.
Nearly 30 years into photography and officially becoming a member of the Photography Board, Literature and Arts Association of Nghe An province, Nguyen Trung Kien has won many awards at the provincial, North Central region and national levels.
This year, the photo titled "Special Forces of Military Region 4 participating in firefighting at Hong Linh Mountain - Ha Tinh" taken by him on the evening of June 28, 2019 was in the top 10 at the "Press Moments 2019" award ceremony.

According to him, at around 1:00 p.m. on June 28, 2019, a large forest fire broke out in the pine forest area of sub-area 92A, village 7, Xuan Hong commune (Nghi Xuan - Ha Tinh). The fire broke out fiercely, threatening many houses. Given the critical situation of the fire, the authorities had to both participate in extinguishing the fire and assist households in evacuating their properties, avoiding loss of life and property when the fire spread.
By 10:30 p.m. on June 28, the fire continued to spread and the firefighting was very difficult. In particular, at the mountain top, the soldiers could not bring the water spray system and specialized equipment up high, so they had to use tree branches to put out the fire and clear the firebreak. The moment he pressed the shutter was recorded in this situation.
This photo was immediately posted on baonghean.vn late at night on June 28 in a series of photos."The pine forest on Hong Linh mountain burned like a sea of fire"and had a strong effect on readers at that time.
The second work by author Nguyen Trung Kien in the top 50 is called “After the trip to sea” and was made at Quynh Phuong seaport (Hoang Mai town - Nghe An). That is the time when fishermen enter the herring season. After the trips to sea with boats full of “sea blessings” arriving at the port, it is also when the seaport is “awakened” by the bustling scene of purchasing and transporting.

He confided: "At first, I took photos just to capture beautiful moments of my family and friends. But then, my love for natural scenery and the daily working life of ordinary working people always attracted my lens."
"Through many efforts and the time of collaborating with Nghe An newspaper, after each published work is a source of encouragement and motivation for me to further improve my skills and expertise. Although the initial results are not really great, it is the motivation that encourages me to continue working in this field" - Mr. Kien shared.
Launched from October 30, 2019 to January 31, 2020, the 2019 "Press Moments" Photo Contest attracted a large number of reporters, journalists and photographers nationwide.
With the criteria of selecting photo moments that are recorded promptly, vividly and create attraction, the Jury selected from the list of top 50 nominated works and continued to select the top 10 "Press Moments 2019" and 1 Impressive Award; 1 A Award; 2 B Awards and 3 C Awards.
