On June 11, while patrolling and controlling the border to prevent illegal border crossings, illegal entry, and the spread of Covid-19, Thong Thu Border Guard Station discovered 8 citizens illegally entering the country through the border gate, including: Pham Thi Phuong; Le Xuan Kieu (born in 1966); Le Van Thang (born in 1980), all 3 people are from Quang Phong ward, Thai Hoa town; Pham Quang Tuan (born in 1983), hometown Thai Giang, Thai Thuy, Thai Binh; Nguyen Van Thich (born in 1979), hometown Vu Ninh, Kien Xuong, Thai Binh; Luong Van Nam (born in 1967), from Nghia Hong, Nghia Dan, Nghe An; Dang Xuan Tan (born in 1982), hometown My Hung, My Loc, Nam Dinh and Dinh Quang Duc, hometown Dung Tien, Thuong Tin, Hanoi.

Through initial investigation, these citizens are freelance workers, who went to Laos to work as workers for Nam Sam 1 Hydropower Company, in Sam To district, Hua Phan province (Laos). Due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the company had no jobs, life was difficult, so they tried to cross the border to return to Vietnam.
Thong Thu Border Guard Station in Que Phong district has taken body temperature, made medical declarations, completed initial records and sent them to centralized quarantine according to regulations.
