On the morning of June 18, in Phu Thanh village, Quynh Long commune (Quynh Luu), a fire broke out, causing two children to suffer severe burns.

Accordingly, at around 9 o'clock, two children, Le Minh Khang and Bui Tien Phat (both born in 2017), while playing in the bedroom of Bui Phuc Dong and Le Thi Thanh (Bui Tien Phat's parents), played with a lighter to burn paper, causing the blanket and mattress to catch fire. The fire then spread to the electrical wires, burning the electric fan and air conditioner.

Discovering the fire, family members quickly tried to put out the fire, opened the door to get the two children out who were suffocated by smoke and took them to the hospital for emergency treatment with severe burns on their face, chest, arms and legs.
