(Baonghean.vn) - In the first half of the 2017-2020 term, the Youth Union branches at all levels in the province implemented 15 provincial-level youth projects, 200 district-level youth projects, and 3,936 grassroots youth projects and activities.
On the morning of June 26th, the Provincial Youth Union held a conference to review and evaluate the mid-term implementation of the Resolutions of the Youth Union Congresses at all levels for the 2017-2022 term and to summarize the work of the Youth Union and Youth Association in the first six months of 2020.

Shocking impact across all fields.
According to the Provincial Youth Union's assessment, in the first half of the 2017-2022 term, the basic targets of the Youth Union Congress Resolution were seriously and effectively implemented, creating strong development in both content and form, with many practical programs and activities leaving a deep impression on young people, highly appreciated by the people and public opinion, contributing to socio-economic development in the province.
Typically, the "Youth Volunteer" movement has grown in scale and diversification, elevating volunteer activities towards a more focused, in-depth, and targeted approach. In the first half of the term, the entire province organized 8,317 volunteer activities, with 570,536 young people participating.

Volunteer work to jointly prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic has been actively supported by Youth Union members, with many creative solutions. Volunteer activities to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas have been widely implemented by Youth Union branches at all levels.
Youth projects are closely linked to the construction of rural infrastructure, the transfer of scientific and technological advancements, the application of new technologies to achieve high efficiency, and new development directions for rural and mountainous areas. As a result, in the first half of the term, 15 provincial-level youth projects, 200 district-level youth projects, and 3,936 grassroots youth projects and activities were implemented.
From 2017 to the present, the entire Youth Union has participated in renovating 103 km and repairing 310 km of rural and inter-field roads; building 18 rural bridges, dredging 235 km of irrigation canals, building 9 new cultural houses, renovating 276 cultural houses, and 105 km of "lighting up the countryside" roads; and establishing more than 547 youth groups to participate in building and maintaining urban order.
The organization donated over 9,000 "Red Scarf Chicken Flocks" to 9,000 disadvantaged students. It supported the construction of 37 Red Scarf Houses and Compassionate Houses for underprivileged and academically优秀 children. It provided support to 54,754 disadvantaged students. 6,635 students and university students received scholarships totaling over 4.3 billion VND.
Free medical examinations and medication were provided to over 22,786 people, valued at over 3 billion VND. Participation in blood donation programs resulted in the collection of 46,852 units of donated blood, with many blood banks operating effectively. Fifteen charitable porridge clubs also operated effectively…
In its role as a partner, the Youth Union at all levels throughout the province has effectively implemented activities to support young people in starting and developing their businesses. In the first half of the term, 86 activities were organized, with over 325 young people being commended; 291 ideas, initiatives, and projects were supported and implemented with a total support value of over 12 billion VND.
In addition, career counseling has been widely implemented, contributing significantly to solving employment problems for young people, especially those in rural and mountainous areas of the province. The Provincial and District Youth Entrepreneurship Funds and the Youth Employment Funds have been effectively operating.

In its work on building the Youth Union, the Provincial Youth Union has focused on and seriously and systematically implemented the formation and development of the Youth Union's cadre team alongside the development of new members, boldly and honestly assessing the quality of its members, and at the same time focusing on implementing the 1+2 policy as guided by the Central Youth Union Secretariat, while simultaneously improving the training and development of Youth Union cadres.
Take on a new, challenging task.
During the conference, the District, Town, and City Youth Unions and affiliated Youth Unions also introduced many new and highly effective models implemented in their units. At the same time, the units also raised difficulties and obstacles such as a shortage of Youth Union cadres; difficulties in admitting Party members among Youth Union members in rural areas; establishing Youth Union organizations in the business sector; concerns about Youth Union work in schools; assigning full-time Youth Union cadres in schools; and appointing Youth Union cadres who are over the age limit.
Suggestions were made that the Provincial Youth Union should update its understanding of youth trends to implement practical movements that meet the needs and preferences of young people; focus on building political fortitude among youth; improve the effectiveness of Youth Union movements, avoiding formalism; organize more forums for young people, and issue implementation plans at the grassroots level, etc.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong praised and appreciated the achievements that union members and young people throughout the province have made in the past period.
In the coming period, it is suggested that all levels of the Youth Union continue to develop more substantive action programs. Creative movements should be tailored to the practical situation; emphasis should be placed on innovating the content and form of Youth Union activities, fostering creativity, leveraging strengths, creating appeal, attracting and engaging members, and paying attention to Youth Union activities at the grassroots level.
In parallel with proactively advising Party committees on the team of Youth Union officials to meet the requirements of the tasks in preparation for the new term, Youth Union organizations at all levels need to review the implementation of programs and actions associated with the Resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels.
The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department suggested that the Youth Union should focus on creating an environment for the development of young people and children; and pay attention to the education of revolutionary ideals, political awareness, and moral lifestyles among its members and young people.

In addition, the Youth Union needs to play a pioneering role in undertaking new and challenging areas such as: administrative reform, application of scientific and technological advancements, application of new technologies in production and daily life, and improving the foreign language skills of its members and young people…
