Crane caught fire next to transformer station, driver died on the spot
(Baonghean.vn) - A crane truck got tangled in an electric wire and caught fire in Nghi Xuan commune (Nghi Loc, Nghe An), the driver died on the spot.
The incident happened at around 11am today, June 29, in Yen Thinh hamlet, Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc, next to Yen Thinh transformer station.
The crane driver is Mr. LXL (born in 1987), residing in Hung Trung commune, Hung Nguyen district.
The initial cause was determined to be that while operating the self-propelled crane of truck with license plate 37C - 307.87 to lift a tombstone from the truck bed to the ground to make a mausoleum, due to lack of observation, the crane got caught on a high voltage wire, causing Mr. L to be electrocuted and the truck to catch fire.

Upon receiving the news of the incident, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PCCC&CNCH) directed Fire Prevention and Rescue Team No. 8, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team on the river to dispatch 01 command vehicle, 01 fire truck, 01 rescue vehicle and 16 officers and soldiers to quickly arrive at the scene, deploy fire fighting and handle the incident.
Currently, authorities are protecting the scene and conducting investigations into the cause.
