Nearly 63 thousand tons of seafood through the fishing port system in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - Thanks to management innovation, continued investment in upgrading infrastructure, equipment, and environmental protection, in the first 6 months of 2020, 4,251 ships docked at fishing ports in Nghe An, with more than 63,000 tons of aquatic products passing through the port.

Thanks to the good implementation of the policy of socializing fishing service activities, in Nghe An, many fishing service establishments have been established in fishing ports to meet the needs of fishing boats going out to sea, helping fishermen to do business effectively, participating in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands, protecting fishing grounds and food safety and hygiene.

Nghe An Fishing Port Management Board has synchronously deployed many solutions in the system of fishing ports, fishing wharves, and storm shelters, including boldly innovating management work, regularly updating, propagating, and disseminating the Party's policies, State documents, and legal contents related to organizing the dissemination and propaganda of laws on aquatic resources, regulations related to fishing ports and fishing wharves, especially environmental sanitation work, exploiting and using properly and effectively the infrastructure of fishing ports, fishing wharves, and storm shelters.

At fishing ports, Nghe An Fishing Port Management Board focuses on maintaining food hygiene and safety. The Board regularly propagates, reminds, and inspects food hygiene and safety for fishermen, business households, and owners of seafood transport vehicles operating in fishing ports.

Organize food safety and hygiene classes, environmental protection at fishing ports for fishermen, organizations and individuals working in fishing ports in Dien Chau, Hoang Mai Town, Quynh Luu, and Cua Lo Town.

Currently, the fishing port focuses on inspecting and controlling fishing vessels entering and leaving the port, monitoring the output of exploited aquatic products, collecting logbooks and reports on aquatic product exploitation. At the same time, strictly and correctly implementing the regulations on inspecting and controlling fishing vessels, purchasing and transport logbooks, fishing vessel exploitation reports, statistics, reporting and archiving records according to regulations.

Thanks to management innovation, continued investment in upgrading infrastructure, equipment, and environmental protection, in the first 6 months of 2020, 4,251 fishing boats arrived at the port, the amount of aquatic products passing through the port was 62,976 tons, the amount of other goods passing through the port was 2,850 tons, and 667,013 KW of electricity and 5,674 m3 of fresh water were supplied.3 Nghe An Fishing Port Management Board has operated very effectively and the revenue from fishing port services reached 997 million VND (equal to 99% of the annual plan and 101% compared to the same period in 2019). Of which, Cua Hoi fishing port achieved revenue of nearly 265.7 million VND, Lach Van fishing port over 342.3 million VND, Lach Quen fishing port nearly 281 million VND, Quynh Phuong fishing port over 108.3 million VND and other services.

Nghe An Fishing Port Management Boardperform functions and tasks: Organize various types of services to support all types of seafood exploitation, focusing on supporting offshore seafood exploitation so that fishermen can produce and do business effectively and safely, participate in protecting the sovereignty of seas and islands, aquatic resources, and maintain food hygiene and safety of seafood for the community.

Along with that, the Board performs 12 tasks and powers: Develop plans and organize the implementation of maintaining the safety conditions of fishing port works, ensuring compliance with the content of the announcement of opening fishing ports; Ensure security and order, environmental protection, food hygiene and safety and fire and explosion prevention and fighting in the fishing port area, confirm the origin of exploited seafood for organizations and individuals upon request; coordinate with the Maritime Safety Agency to notify the situation of waterways, signal buoys, safety of bridges and wharves for fishing vessels entering and leaving fishing ports; coordinate with specialized inspectors in port management and coordinate with State agencies when requested...
