In mid-July, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Sen Group Le Phuoc Vu took refuge at Vien Minh Pagoda after many years of studying Buddhism.

According to the Buddhist Information Portal of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Mr. Le Phuoc Vu - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Sen Group (HSG) has just taken refuge in the Three Jewels at Vien Minh Pagoda, Hanoi. This is an important ceremony, considered the starting point in the journey of following the Buddhist teachings of a Buddhist. Buddhists can live normally in the community, not subject to the constraints of the Church like those who become monks.

A representative of Hoa Sen Group confirmed that Mr. Vu still plays a very important role in the company and will appear at an extraordinary meeting in early August to answer questions from shareholders about the plan to issue shares to strategic investors.

At the annual general meeting of shareholders earlier this year, Mr. Vu said that in the past 3 years, he rarely appeared in the office and mainly managed work remotely. During sensitive market months, he called General Director Tran Quoc Tri and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Tran Ngoc Chu every day to update the situation, otherwise he called every 2-3 days.

"I often stay in the mountains or occasionally go abroad to visit my wife and children. The executive team is now truly mature and no longer dependent on Le Phuoc Vu. It would be a mistake for a public company with more than 20,000 shareholders to continue to rely on me," said Mr. Vu.

Although he does not regularly run a business, in recent months, private companies owned by Mr. Vu have regularly traded HSG shares.

The company is convening an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in early August in Ho Chi Minh City.
