Memorial service for martyred journalists held in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - During the wars to defend the country, Vietnam had nearly 600 revolutionary journalists who fell forever on the battlefields and hundreds of other journalists who sacrificed part of their blood and flesh for the independence and freedom of the nation.

On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2020), on the evening of July 27, Da Pagoda (Au Lac Pagoda, Vinh City) in conjunction with the Representative Office of Nguoi Lam Bao Magazine in Nghe An organized a Memorial Ceremony to pray for the souls of heroic martyrs and 511 heroic Vietnamese revolutionary journalists who sacrificed their lives in wars to protect the Fatherland.
Attending the ceremony were monks and nuns of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province; representatives of central and local press agencies; and a large number of people from Vinh city.

Incomplete statistics: The whole country has nearly 600 Vietnamese revolutionary journalists who have fallen forever on the battlefields and hundreds of other journalists have donated part of their flesh and blood, becoming wounded soldiers.

The grand ceremony program includes the following rituals: chanting Buddha's name and carrying the spirit tablets of heroic martyrs to the altar; saluting the flag; reading a memorial speech; reading a eulogy for heroic martyrs; lamp passing ceremony, offering lamps and giving thanks and dedication.

Reading the memorial speech, Venerable Thich Dong Tue, Deputy Head of the Ritual Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, respectfully remembered and expressed gratitude, wishing that the heroic martyr journalists who heroically sacrificed in the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans would be liberated, and that Vietnam would always be strong and prosperous, and that its people would be happy and prosperous./.
