11 young men arrested for fighting with knives at night

Eleven young men with knives and swords chased and slashed each other at night, sending many people to the hospital. Authorities have arrested the suspects.

On August 1, Ky Anh Town Police (Ha Tinh) prosecuted Ho Bao Chung, 21 years old, residing in Hung Tri Ward; Le Thanh Son, 23 years old; Nguyen Van Truong, 22 years old; Nguyen Hoang Ha, 19 years old, for the crime of Intentionally causing injury and Tran Hong Son, 29 years old, both residing in Ky Anh District for the crime of Disturbing public order, according to Articles 134 and 318 of the 2015 Penal Code.

According to the investigation results, at about 10 p.m. on July 8, Chung, Truong, Ha and 4 young men were drinking beer at a pub in Hung Tri ward, Ky Anh town. Half an hour later, Thanh Son and Hong Son and two other people came to drink with them.

A few minutes later, Truong sat in the shop and saw Hong Son's motorbike trunk open, inside was an 80cm long sword, so he asked his friend, "Who are you carrying the sword to slash?". Thanh Son, who was sitting next to him, heard this and immediately ran to the motorbike, grabbed the sword and slashed Truong once on the shoulder, even though there had been no conflict before.

7 people from Truong's side and 4 young men from Thanh Son's group then grabbed knives and swords and started fighting, chasing and slashing each other in the streets of Hung Tri ward. As a result, Thanh Son was slashed in the eye and thigh, Chung and Hong Son were injured in the arm and had to go to Ky Anh town General Hospital for emergency treatment.

Based on the people's report, Ky Anh Town Police sent officers to block off the scene, and by the morning of July 9, they had arrested and summoned 11 related people to the headquarters to take statements. In addition to the 5 suspects prosecuted, the authorities continued to investigate and consolidate the files on the remaining 6 young men for processing.
