(Baonghean.vn) - The first PRC test for patient Vo Duc Hanh and his mother, Ms. Cao Thi Suu (in Hoa Hai block, Tan Lac town, Quy Chau district, returned from Da Nang on July 22, then had a cough and fever)... gave negative results for SARS-CoV-2 virus.

At 12:30 p.m. on August 1, 2020, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department of Health, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province announced: The first PRC test for patient Vo Duc Hanh and his mother, Ms. Cao Thi Suu in Hoa Hai block, Tan Lac town, Quy Chau district, was negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Currently, these two people are still quarantined at the Quy Chau District Medical Center for monitoring and taking samples for a second test in the coming days. The work of isolating, screening, and monitoring those in contact is still ongoing.

In addition to the two cases of mother and son Cao Thi Suu and Vo Duc Hanh, another patient who is also being quarantined at Quy Chau District Medical Center has also been tested and has negative results for SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The travel itinerary of patient Vo Duc Hanh and Ms. Cao Thi Suu was investigated and determined by the authorities as follows:

On July 19, 2020, the patient went to the Department of Surgery of Da Nang Hospital for examination and hospitalization and was discharged on July 22, 2020. During this time, the patient's mother accompanied and took care of him. On the evening of July 22, the patient and his mother took a bus back to Tan Lac town.

On the afternoon of July 31, the patient went to the Quy Chau District Medical Center for examination with symptoms of high fever, sore throat, headache, and body aches. Immediately, patient Vo Duc Hanh and Ms. Cao Thi Suu were isolated by the District Medical Center. The Quy Chau District Medical Center reported to the Nghe An Province Center for Disease Control.

On the evening of July 31, officials from the Provincial Center for Disease Control went to Quy Chau to collect samples from the mother and child and conduct tests.

Authorities of Quy Chau district quickly implemented measures to spray rooms, clean the environment and investigate to identify people who had close contact with patient Cao Duc Hanh and Ms. Cao Thi Suu; and decided to quarantine these people at home.

A total of 36 people are required to quarantine at home to prevent Covid-19./.
