Valedictorian of 10th grade Literature class at Phan school: Studying with passion and... sobriety!

Thuong's parents' house is located in a small alley in Hamlet 5, Tan Son Commune, Do Luong District, and was filled with joy when they heard the news that she was the valedictorian of the Literature class at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

Ms. Hoang Thi Ly - Thuong's mother happily said: "Thuong is very studious, self-studying and not going to extra classes. My husband and I work in the fields so we can't teach her anything."

During her 4 years of middle school, the petite, gentle student Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong always achieved the title of Excellent Student.

Her love for literature was kindled from the first days of middle school. From her passion for literature and writing ability, Hoai Thuong has truly asserted herself when she continuously achieved the title of excellent student at the district level in grades 7, 8, and 9. More impressively, for two consecutive years, she won the "Best Reading Promotion Story" award at the provincial Reading Culture Ambassador contest.

In the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong was the valedictorian of the Literature class. This achievement is the result of her hard work over the past 4 years.

She shared: “I loved reading and studying literature early. During the 4 years of studying at Kim Dong High School, with the dedicated guidance of teachers, my passion really had the opportunity to develop. Besides the hours in class, listening attentively to the teachers' lectures, at home I read more books, quoted good quotes from famous poets, writers, and literary theorists in my own notebook. Then I practiced my argumentative skills by writing essays on current issues to improve myself further."

Hoai Thuong said: The Literature exam for the Literature major class includes 3 questions with the content: reading comprehension, social commentary, literary commentary. Thuong really likes the second question with the topic: "Give. That is the secret of luck". She shared more: "Besides luck, my exam is a synthesis of all the knowledge that I have cultivated during 4 years of secondary school. From knowledge about texts to knowledge of literary theory. I wrote this exam with all my passion".

Commenting on her student Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong, Ms. Bui Thi Hang - Literature teacher at Kim Dong Secondary School said: "Em Thuong is a student that I taught Literature from grade 6 to grade 9. With her diligence and passion for literature, Thuong soon showed her ability to perceive and absorb literature better than her friends and demonstrated her ability to analyze and comment. Therefore, being the valedictorian of Literature at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted is very worthy of Thuong".

Thai Doan Quang Huy - a classmate of Thuong in class 9D said: "Thuong is always a role model in all class movements. In addition, she always knows how to encourage and share with friends with difficult family circumstances as well as those with poor academic performance. It can be said that Thuong is a shining example for friends to follow and learn from."

Surprisingly, the valedictorian of the 10th grade math class at Phan school really loves History.
