Prosecution of female subject who sold 2 compatriots to marry in foreign land

(Baonghean.vn) - Once a victim of being tricked and sold to China to marry, three years later, Oanh (residing in Ky Son, Nghe An) returned using the same trick to trick and sell two fellow countrymen to marry foreign women.

The Investigation Police Agency of Ky Son District Police has just issued a decision to prosecute the accused and initiate a criminal case for the act of "Human trafficking" against Cut Thi Oanh (born in 1988), residing in Luu Thang village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son.

According to the investigation report of Ky Son District Police, in 2013, Cut Thi Oanh was a victim of being tricked and sold to China to get married. In 2016, Oanh returned to Vietnam and used the same trick that others had tricked her with to lure women of the Khmu ethnic group who did not have stable jobs and had conflicts with their husbands to go to China to get married.

In 2016, Cut Thi Oanh took two women named Lo Thi M. (born in 1986), residing in Luu Thang village, Chieu Luu commune, and Luong Me Ng. (born in 1980), residing in Huoi Bac village, Bac Ly commune, Ky Son district, to China to sell for 125,000 yuan, equivalent to nearly 375 million VND. However, Oanh only gave Ms. Mai and Ms. Nga 15 million VND each, and Cut Thi Oanh spent the remaining money on personal expenses.

After returning from China, on July 31, 2020, Ms. M. and N. went to the Ky Son district police station to report the entire incident.

At the investigation agency, Cut Thi Oanh admitted all her crimes. Pursuant to the Criminal Procedure Code, Ky Son District Police issued an arrest warrant for Cut Thi Oanh to continue the investigation.
