Do Luong Catholic Community donates nearly 200 million VND to prevent Covid-19

(Baonghean.vn) - In the work of preventing the Covid-19 epidemic, religious organizations and parishioners of Do Luong district have participated in supporting through the Vietnam Fatherland Front system and all levels 189 million VND along with goods and materials.

On the afternoon of August 4, the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Do Luong district held a conference to review the first 6 months of 2020.

In the first 6 months of 2020, the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" was actively mobilized by Catholics, contributing tens of billions of VND and thousands of working days. To date, 12/14 communes with Catholics have been recognized as meeting new rural standards.

In the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, religious organizations and parishioners have participated in supporting through the Vietnam Fatherland Front system and all levels 189 million VND along with goods and materials.

In the work of participating in government building, 2 residential areas with Catholics organized conferences to vote on crime denunciations, providing 14 sources of information; through denunciations, 4 subjects were summoned for investigation and handling. The activities of reconciliation groups and self-governing inter-family groups in residential areas operated effectively.

In the religious orders, the Saints are concerned with helping families with policies and difficult circumstances, thereby regularly raising 47 disabled and orphaned children with no place to rely on.

In the coming time, the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Do Luong district will continue to strengthen its close contact with the grassroots, grasp the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of parishioners; encourage parishioners to take care of economic development, help each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.
