Phoenix Women's Association: A bright spot in the Association movement in Vinh City

Coming to Phuong Hoang block, Trung Do ward (Vinh city) at this time, we were amazed by the clean, garbage-free streets, especially the Old Tau road about 300 meters long with hundreds of bougainvillea pots competing to show off their colors, making everyone passing by admire. This flower road was conceived and implemented by the Women's Union of Phuong Hoang block, at the same time the Women's Union is also the core in the work of preserving a green, clean and beautiful environment.

However, to have the solidarity and consensus of the people in the current block is a process of propaganda and mobilization that is not simple. At the end of December 2019, when block 4 and block 5 of Trung Do ward merged into Phuong Hoang block, the people of the two blocks were still unfamiliar with each other and did not have many opportunities to interact and meet, this made the Executive Committee of the Women's Association of the block very concerned, wanting to create a common playground for the people of Phuong Hoang block to meet each other every day, increasing the spirit of solidarity.

Realizing that the block's cultural house only has 1 volleyball court, while the people's need for physical exercise and sports is increasing, the block has just merged so the number of players is very large, so the Executive Committee of the Women's Association of the block has proposed to the superiors to allow the relocation of the toilet at the block's cultural house to have space to build 1 more volleyball court for all people to enjoy.

After receiving approval from the Ward People's Committee, people in Phuong Hoang block voluntarily contributed money and labor to complete the project. Families with conditions contributed from 1 to 2 million VND, families without conditions contributed a few hundred thousand VND. When building the toilet, people did not hire outside workers but people in the block directly took charge. Men took turns building, women worked as construction workers, carrying materials, everyone participated happily and enthusiastically without taking a single day's pay.

In just 10 days, the block's toilets were moved to the back and the new volleyball court was completed. The people in the block were extremely excited because not only did they have a new playground, but it was also an opportunity to increase the solidarity of the people, eliminating the distance after the merger. Since the new volleyball court was built, every morning and afternoon, the block's volleyball club and the people in the block regularly gathered at the cultural house to exchange and practice, creating a joyful and bustling atmosphere.

The Phoenix Women's Association is also the first unit to establish a sports dance club for women in Trung Do ward. Initially, the sports dance club included the heads of the Women's Associations of 12 blocks in the ward. After being established and operating smoothly, the heads of the Associations returned to their blocks to establish sports dance clubs, from which this art form began to spread. Currently, the Phoenix Women's Association is also teaching children in the block about this subject, helping them have a healthy and useful playground after school hours.

In addition to the above outstanding activities, in recent times, the Women's Association of Phoenix Block has also actively participated in charity programs such as supporting the disabled, donating blood, helping families in difficult circumstances... In addition, in folk singing competitions or sports competitions of the city, the Women's Association also mobilized people in the block to participate and won high awards, recognized by everyone.

The synchronous and practical ways of the Women's Union have contributed to changing the face of Phuong Hoang block, Trung Do ward, which is one of the blocks with the cleanest and freshest living environment and also the place with the strongest union movement in Vinh city, attracting many unions of wards and communes in the city to learn from their experiences./.
