From 0:00 on July 28, Da Nang has implemented social distancing. All means of transport to and from the city have stopped operating. Therefore, a large number of workers, students and people from outside the city coming to work, study or visit relatives... are stuck in Da Nang. Nghe An in particular has a fairly large number.
Many people tried to avoid Da Nang by taking a bus, some accepted to take a truck, concrete truck... to go home. Some groups gathered at a point on the outskirts of the city and called their relatives in the countryside to bring a car to pick them up. In particular, many young people walked over Hai Van Pass for many hours to find a way to go home. A group of construction workers crossed the pass to Thua Thien - Hue and were discovered and taken to a centralized quarantine in this province. But some groups were escorted back to Da Nang.
The "Song Lam in Da Nang" Association has called on people who wish to return to their hometown to register their list to submit to the authorities. Up to now, both Nghe An and Ha Tinh have 2,500 registered people, most of whom are Nghe An citizens.
Faced with this situation, the People's Committee of Da Nang City has just sent a document to the Prime Minister, asking for permission for workers and students to leave the city to return to their hometowns. If approved, Da Nang hopes that the Prime Minister will direct the People's Committees of provinces and cities with residents in Da Nang to coordinate to receive and welcome citizens according to the plan to ensure epidemic prevention and control. Da Nang also requested the Ministry of Transport to open a number of train routes to bring people from Da Nang to other localities.
