Accordingly, Ma Ting Di was sentenced by the People's Court to 16 years in prison, Cen Guang Neng (born 1981), Ning Rong Teng (born 1990), both Chinese nationals, to 14 years in prison. For defendant Huang Ding Piao (born 1986, Chinese nationality) 13 years in prison for the crime of "Theft of property" and 1 year in prison for the crime of "Possession of drugs", Piao received a total of 14 years in prison.
As for Hoang Minh Long (born in 1968, residing in Cao Bang), the father of defendant Huan, he was sentenced to 1 year in prison for the crime of "Failure to report a crime".
The panel of judges believes that the defendants' actions were serious, committed multiple times and were organized, so the above sentence should be imposed.
According to the indictment, around April 2018, Di invited Huang Ding Piao, Cen Guang Neng, and Ning Rong Teng, all Chinese, to enter Vietnam many times illegally through Cao Bang province.
Then, Di contacted Thao, Huan, and Long to go to the provinces to steal.
On April 24, 2018, Di asked Long to rent a self-driving car for Huan to take the group to Ho Chi Minh City. On the way, the group looked for vulnerable companies to steal from and promised to pay Huan 100-200 million VND if they succeeded.
