Nghe An wins high prize at sea and island research contest
(Baonghean.vn) - The contest to learn about “The Sea, Islands of the Fatherland and the 65-year tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Navy” organized by the Navy Command attracted 117,316 entries from groups and individuals nationwide. At the end of the contest, the organizing committee awarded 33 prizes to authors and groups of authors, of which Nghe An province had 2 individuals awarded high prizes.

Entries must answer 10 questions about the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; the 1982 International Law of the Sea, the 2012 Law of the Sea of Vietnam; historical evidence and legal basis affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa; Vietnam's marine economic development strategy; the revolutionary tradition of the Vietnam People's Navy over 65 years of construction and development.
After more than 2 months of implementation, there were 117,316 entries from collectives and individuals nationwide participating in the contest. As a result, the Organizing Committee selected 33 authors and groups of authors with winning entries to award prizes, including 3 A prizes, 5 B prizes, 10 C prizes, 15 Encouragement prizes and 10 typical collectives in implementing and organizing the contest. Nghe An province was honored to have comrade Chu Thi Bich Ngoc, an officer of Nghe An Provincial Police, winning the B prize and comrade Nguyen Minh Quang, an officer of Nghe An Provincial Police, winning the C prize.
The contest "The sea and islands of the Fatherland and the tradition of 65 years of the heroic Vietnam People's Navy" aims to contribute to widely propagating the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland and the tradition of 65 years of building, fighting, winning and growing of the Vietnam People's Navy (May 7, 1955 - May 7, 2020), thereby arousing pride in the national tradition, the tradition of the heroic Army and Navy, strengthening the belief and determination of our army and people; mobilizing all resources to create great combined strength in the cause of protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands and sacred continental shelf of the Fatherland in the new situation.
