According to the report of the Steering Committee summarizing 15 years of implementing Resolution No. 24 of the 9th Central Executive Committee, by the end of 2019, 98.4% of ethnic minority and mountainous communes had car roads to the commune center; 100% of communes had access to the national grid; the rate of households using electricity reached 93.9%.

The economic growth rate of ethnic minority and mountainous areas is quite high, averaging over 7%, higher than the national average. The poverty rate is decreasing rapidly, averaging about 3% - 4%/year.

Education and health care have made much progress: 96.6% of communes have kindergartens/preschools; 100% of communes have met the standards for universal primary education; 93.2% of communes have junior high schools; 99.39% of communes have health stations; 77.8% of communes have met national health standards.

In addition to the achievements, ethnic work and ethnic policy implementation still face many difficulties and limitations. Specifically, up to now, there are 118 policy documents related to ethnic minority and mountainous areas (of which 54 projects and policies are still in effect), which are developed, managed and implemented by many agencies, so resources are lacking, scattered, and difficult to integrate and clearly define responsibilities.

The dissemination of the Party's Resolution, the State's policies and laws on ethnic affairs and the role of prestigious people and members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in ethnic minority areas has not been effective.

To effectively carry out the ethnic work of the Fatherland Front in the current period, Comrade Vu Duong Chau - Head of the Ethnic Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front emphasized 5 basic contents and goals including: Improving the effectiveness of propaganda work on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups; Coordinating the implementation and implementation of campaigns and emulation movements suitable for ethnic minority areas; Coordinating the implementation of social supervision and criticism on ethnic policies and ethnic work; Participating in the implementation of people's foreign affairs of the Front in ethnic minority areas; Coordinating the implementation and participation in the development of mechanisms and policies, promoting the role of prestigious and typical people, improving the capacity of Front cadres in ethnic minority areas.
