In Nghe An, Vinh International Airport has 32 to 34 takeoffs and landings every day, serving about 4,000 to 4,200 passengers; in addition, the Airport also regularly welcomes special flights serving Party and State leaders and international guests visiting and working in Nghe An and neighboring provinces.

In the first 7 months of 2020, the political security, social order and safety, aviation safety and security situation in Nghe An province was basically stable; there were no terrorist activities, illegal interference or complicated incidents that negatively affected the operations of the airport, especially the security and safety of flights.

However, due to the low awareness of a segment of the population when participating in civil aviation activities, many issues still arise during the year that pose a threat to aviation security and safety, such as: passengers carrying weapons, support tools, and dangerous items against regulations; spreading false information about bombs and explosives; illegally entering restricted areas of airports; subjects using flying equipment to film and take photos in prohibited areas; the situation of people cultivating and planting tall trees in airspace areas, burning straw, and grazing livestock and poultry still occurs, posing a threat to flight safety.

During the first 7 months of the year, at Vinh International Airport, functional forces coordinated to detect and handle 10 cases of transporting criminals by air, and 1 case of coordinating to monitor the activities of criminal subjects.

In particular, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh requested to step up propaganda work, disseminate legal knowledge, and continue to build a culture of aviation traffic for the whole society and all classes of people.
