The 2019-2020 school year is a special school year for education nationwide, including Nghe An, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, this is also the school year in which the provincial education sector has made many innovations in its direction and management to prepare conditions for the comprehensive general education program, replace textbooks for grade 1, especially in preparing facilities, organizing training for more than 10,000 managers and teachers, and re-planning the school network.

In addition, the sector has also focused on activities to build models of educational and training innovation such as implementing the construction of 14 high-quality key schools, expanding the enhanced English program, and bringing STEM into schools. Emulation movements are organized with many practical and meaningful activities.

At the end of the school year, the whole sector achieved many outstanding results. Currently, the rate of standard schools reached 72.6%, exceeding the set target. The quality of key education continues to be maintained when Nghe An education is in the top of the country in terms of the number of excellent national students with 82/102 students winning prizes, including 13 First prizes, with 1 student winningInternational Chemistry Olympiad Gold Medal.
