Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnamese Judiciary, 40 years of the Nghe An Judiciary

40 YEARS OF FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT

75 years ago, on August 28, 1945, the Provisional Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam issued a Proclamation to the people and the world on the establishment of a National Unification Cabinet with 14 Ministers, including Minister of Justice Vu Trong Khanh. August 28, 1945 was taken as the "Traditional Day of the Judiciary".

In 1981, the Department of Justice (on the basis of the Legal Department of the People's Committee, then the People's Committee), and the judicial agencies of Nghe Tinh province were established. In 1991, the Provincial People's Committee issued a Decision to re-establish all the Justice Departments under the People's Committees at the district level.

Over the past 40 years, along with strengthening the organization and construction of the industry, the tasksJudicial workhas been implemented comprehensively and synchronously at all levels, many aspects of work have gone into depth, with order and quality, contributing to the good implementation of local political tasks.

Notably, advising and appraising the promulgation of appropriate institutions and policies, with many positive changes, meeting the State's management requirements, creating a healthy environment in attracting investment, and creating favorable conditions in production and business.

The work of propaganda, dissemination and legal education has received attention from leaders and direction, creating positive changes and achieving many encouraging results, gradually raising awareness of "Living and working according to the Constitution and the law".

The work of monitoring the implementation of the law and the management of administrative violations has gradually become systematic and effective. The work of judicial administration and the management of judicial support organizations has met the requirements of organizations and citizens. The work of registering and managing household registration from the provincial to district and commune levels has been carried out systematically and promptly.

Over the past 40 years, the Nghe An Judicial sector has been recognized and evaluated by the Party and State with noble awards: Third-class Labor Medal (1991), Second-class Labor Medal (1996), Rotating Flag of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Prime Minister (1988, 1989, 1990, 2016), Annual Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Justice and many other noble awards.

PROMOTING THE ROLE OF THE AGENCIES THAT REVIEW LEGAL DOCUMENTS

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung praised the achievements and contributions of the entire Judicial sector in the process of building and developing the province's socio-economy in recent times.

In particular, the Judicial sector has performed well the role of an appraisal agency, a "gatekeeper" for the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee in promulgating mechanisms and policies in accordance with legal regulations. The work of propaganda, dissemination and legal education has always been of interest and diversified in many forms.

Inheriting and promoting the above achievements, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung requested the Nghe An Judicial sector to further affirm its role as an agency appraising legal documents, and to identify this as the sector's top priority task.

The sector also needs to continue to innovate, increase efficiency and bring the dissemination and education of law to a new level, contributing to building awareness of living and working according to the Constitution and law among cadres and people.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the sector to promote the application of information technology, carry out administrative reforms; strengthen inspection and guidance on civil status, nationality, and judicial records to better serve the needs of the people.

At the same time, ensure the healthy development of civil status relations with foreign elements, complete the digitization of civil status books and update the civil status database to ensure consistency and uniformity in civil status exploitation and management.
