Despite the Covid-19 outbreak, total investment capital of Vietnamese enterprises abroad in the past 8 months still increased sharply compared to the same period last year.
According to data fromForeign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment, in the past 8 months, Vietnam's total foreign investment capital reached 330.2 million USD, up 15.8% over the same period in 2019.
Of which, 86 projects were licensed.investment registration certificatenew projects, with total registered capital reaching nearly 218.5 million USD, up 21.3% over the same period and 25 projects adjusting investment capital with total additional capital of 111.8 million USD, up 13.3% over the same period in 2019.

In August 2020 alone, 6 projects were granted new investment registration certificates and 8 projects were adjusted, with the total newly granted and increased foreign investment capital reaching 77.3 million USD, equal to 47.8% over the same period in 2019 and more than 2.5 times higher than in July 2020.
The Foreign Investment Agency said that Vietnamese investors have invested abroad in 13 fields. Of which,processing industry, manufacturing led, with 10 newly licensed projects and 6 capital adjustments, total registered capital of 225.7 million USD, accounting for 68.4% of total investment capital. The accommodation and catering services sector ranked second, with total investment capital of 39.6 million USD, accounting for nearly 12%; followed by the wholesale and retail sectors; information and communication.
There were 24 countries and territories receiving investment from Vietnam in the first 8 months of 2020. Leading was Germany with 4 new investment projects, total registered investment capital reaching 92.6 million USD, accounting for 28% of total investment capital.
