Woman takes her child to police station to confess after being scammed out of over 70 billion VND
By raising capital to sell seafood, Trinh defrauded 9 people of more than 72 billion VND. When she was unable to pay the debt, Trinh surrendered to the Quang Nam Provincial Police.
This afternoon, the Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Province Police said that the unit has initiated a case and prosecuted Nguyen Thi Tuyet Trinh (born in 1985), residing in Tam Tien Commune, Nui Thanh District, Quang Nam for the act of"Fraudulent appropriation of property".

According to the investigation records, in December 2018, Trinh borrowed 360 million VND from Ms. Bui Thi H. (residing in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam) with an interest rate of 15% per month.
By June 2019, due to business losses, in order to have money to pay off debts, Trinh informed that she was trading seafood in large quantities from Nha Trang, buying and selling each batch within 3 days, so she needed a large amount of capital to get the goods. If anyone contributed capital to buy and sell seafood, within 3 days Trinh would pay back the principal plus a profit of 10 - 12%.
However, in reality, Trinh did not buy or sell seafood, but used the money contributed by many people to pay the principal and interest according to the agreement, then spent it on personal expenses.
From June 2019 to present, Trinh has borrowed money in rotation and appropriated from many people with a total amount of more than 72 billion VND.
On August 22, when she was no longer able to pay, Trinh went to the Quang Nam Provincial Police.surrenderand confessed all crimes.
Searching Trinh's residence, the investigation agency seized 4 notebooks, 1 document, 1 laptop, 2 cell phones containing records related to the subject's behavior.
Through investigation, the authorities determined that Trinh had appropriated a total of nearly 72.2 billion VND from 9 people, specifically: Nguyen Ngoc Kh. (residing in Tam Ngoc commune, Tam Ky) was scammed out of 30 billion VND; Vo Tan C. (residing in An Xuan ward, Tam Ky) 5 billion VND; Nguyen Thi Ngh. (residing in Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam) 3 billion VND; Nguyen Thi Ph. (residing in An Son ward, Tam Ky) 19 billion VND,...
Previously, in 2014, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Trinh was tried by the People's Court of Quang Nam province for the crime of "Abuse of trust to appropriate property".
