Nghe An: Highlights September 5

*NIn the 2020-2021 school year, Nghe An province has 1,532 schools, including 548 kindergartens, 495 primary schools, 399 secondary schools and 90 high schools. The total number of students at all levels is 841,528, an increase of nearly 30,000 students compared to the approved plan in the previous school year.

This school year, as well as the whole country, the Education and Training sector of Nghe An must simultaneously carry out two tasks: effectively preventing the Covid-19 epidemic and ensuring the education and training plan. *TyesPhan Boi Chau High School for the GiftedIn front of 1,300 students and teachers, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee beat the drum to open the school year.

In the 2019-2020 school year, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted continued to affirm its leading position as a specialized high school in the country's education sector. The synchronous focus on the two tasks of nurturing excellent students and comprehensive education has contributed to creating a youthful, dynamic educational environment, suitable for the requirements of modern education and international integration.

The school's students won 82 national excellent student awards, including 13 first prizes, 31 second prizes, 25 third prizes, and 13 consolation prizes, continuing to maintain their top position in the country. This is also the school year with the highest number of students winning first prizes. The school has 2 students participating in international and regional Olympics, including Pham Trung Anh, who won the international gold medal in Chemistry. This is the highest result in Chemistry at the international level of the school so far. The school's students have participated and achieved high results in many national competitions and intellectual playgrounds.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Secretary awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha - Biology teacher and Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong - Information Technology teacher; awarded 15 scholarships from the "Support to School" program, each worth 1 million VND, to students with difficult circumstances but good academic performance.

*DCome celebrate the opening day with teachers and nearly 1,900 studentsHuynh Thuc Khang High School, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council presented flowers, congratulated the school's Board of Directors and gave gifts to students who overcame difficulties to study well.

Huynh Thuc Khang High School has a 100-year tradition, formerly known as Vinh National School. Promoting the teaching and learning tradition of the school with a long history, in the 2019-2020 school year, teachers and students of Huynh Thuc Khang High School continued to achieve many results, affirming its top position in the quality of education and training in the whole province.

These results are demonstrated through provincial-level Science and Technology competitions, 2020 high school graduation, International Physics Olympiad... In the 2019-2020 school year, the school was awarded the title of "Excellent Labor Collective" by the Provincial People's Committee; the Ministry of Education and Training awarded the Certificate of Merit "Typical advanced model of the Education sector in the period 2015-2020". In particular, on April 23, 2020, the school was awarded the Second-class Independence Medal by the President.

*DOpening ceremony and drum beating atDang Thai Mai Secondary School, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung requested the school to promote its long-standing achievements and strive to become a key high-quality school of the province.

Dang Thai Mai Secondary School currently has more than 1,300 students with 31 classes and 57 staff members. The school was established in 1978, formerly the Literature and Mathematics Gifted Class, then Vinh Gifted School. Since its establishment, the school has always carried out the task of discovering and nurturing the cultural talents of secondary school students in Vinh City.

In the 2019-2020 school year, the school's overall quality maintained its leading position with outstanding high-level transfer exam scores in the whole province. More than 50% of grade 9 students passed the entrance exam to specialized schools in and outside the province, of which 41% passed the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

Working with the school's Board of Directors, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung requested teachers to perform their duties well, increasingly improve the quality of teaching and learning, both inheriting the tradition but also approaching new methods and approaches in the current information explosion era. *TIn the mountainous district of Con Cuong, after beating the drum to start the new school year atCon Cuong High School, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee kindly instructed teachers and more than 1,300 students on the day of taking children to school. The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hopes and has high expectations for teachers and students of the school to continue promoting the results of the 2019-2020 school year, overcoming all difficulties, striving to achieve the dual goal of competing to teach well - study well and effectively prevent the Covid-19 epidemic. Comrade Nguyen Van Thong also presented 15 gifts to students in difficult circumstances who have made great achievements in their studies.

It is known that last school year, Con Cuong High School achieved many results with 185 students achieving excellent results, and in the 2020 high school graduation exam, 15 students achieved 26 points or higher.
