Provincial leaders work in Con Cuong on the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction

Over the past 5 years, from many investment resources for poverty reduction work, the districtCon Cuonghas been implemented and achieved many positive results such as: Support preferential credit, 7,519 households received loans, cost 30.2 billion VND; survey and invest in 189 models; 1,250 students with difficult conditions received loans to study. At the same time, promote the effective use of capital to support models of cattle and buffalo farming, fish farming, goat farming, pig farming, support machinery, breeds and production equipment.
With the source of mobilization "Fund for the poor",Government Program 135and contributions from agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists have supported the construction, repair, and loan of housing for 1,136 poor households with a total cost of 28.3 billion VND.

The number of poor households decreased by 3,452, of which 383 households voluntarily wrote applications to escape poverty, reducing the poverty rate from 32.01% in 2016 to 14.2%. The results of implementing the district's planning targets met the requirements. Specifically, vocational training for rural workers reached 5,777 workers; jobs were created for 6,483, and labor was exported for 945 people. Thereby, contributing to job creation, helping ethnic minority areas develop the economy, stabilize their lives and escape poverty. Up to now, the whole district has 02/13 communes, 16/115 villages and hamlets reaching the new rural destination.
Programs and projects related to poverty reduction are implemented promptly and to the right target. Support models for poor and near-poor households are effective, helping households have stable incomes, improve their lives, and escape poverty. Loan capital is gradually increased, linked to many production models being implemented; the allocation plan is on schedule, creating conditions for people to easily access and effectively use capital for the right purposes, contributing to reducing the annual poverty rate.

At the meeting, delegates also contributed many opinions on propaganda work; integrating project programs; social security policies; education and training development; improving the quality of health care for the people...
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long praised Con Cuong's efforts in poverty reduction in the area. The district has synchronously implemented poverty reduction programs, formed many production development models, and effectively promoted community tourism models.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the district continue to develop specific programs and plans, and orient poverty reduction as an important content in the local socio-economic development strategies and plans. For economic development models and improving people's lives that have been implemented in recent years, it is necessary to organize assessments and draw lessons for replication; find specific, practical, and most effective models for the people; promote vocational training, basically solve employment for workers, in order to ensure income sources to help people stabilize their lives and escape poverty.
