Poor female student in Nghe An risks missing her university date with 28.25 points
(Baonghean.vn) - This year is the first year that the mountainous commune of Nghia Mai, Nghia Dan district has a student who scored above 28 points in the university entrance exam. That student is Mai Thi Quynh Trang, a Tho ethnic group who has just passed the university entrance exam with a score of 28.25. However, before the joy could begin, sadness came because her family situation was too difficult.
Following the introduction of the People's Committee of Nghia Mai Commune, we visited Mai Thi Quynh Trang's house in Mai Thinh village. The good news that Quynh Trang passed the entrance exam to Hanoi Law University, with a score of 28.25 (including her regional score, she got 31 points) delighted many people because this was the first time not only the village but also the whole commune had a personhigh scorelike that. I am also honored to be among the 7 ethnic minority students with high exam scores recognized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province.commendon the evening of September 19.
Trang was born and raised in a family with parents who were farmers, had many children, and was a poor household. From grade 1 to grade 12, she was always an excellent student. However, due to extremely difficult circumstances, no land, and the life of the whole family of 5 people depending only on her father's seasonal work, they were poor in every way.

Since she was in 10th grade, her mother has been suffering from stage 4 lymphoma, and all her money has been spent on her treatment. "Wherever we could borrow money, we have already borrowed for the children's mother's treatment. Currently, we have not paid off the debt, so we cannot borrow more..." - Mr. Mai Quang Thinh, Trang's father shared.

The family of five depends on her father's odd jobs, so despite their best efforts, they still cannot escape poverty. In addition to going to school, Trang often has to peel sugarcane leaves for neighbors to earn extra money to support her family.
Ms. Bui Thi Thuy - Trang's neighbor said: "When we heard that Trang passed the university entrance exam, the neighbors were very happy, and also sympathized with her family's current situation. Her mother has been seriously ill for several years now, and her father has been struggling to earn money to treat her mother, so Trang has to take care of everything in the house... I just hope that there will be a benefactor who can help her fulfill her dream."college dream”.

Quynh Trang shared: "Now thendream of passing universityMy dream of becoming a law student has come true. However, due to my family's difficult circumstances, I probably won't have the money to study because I have two younger siblings who are also studying."
As someone who did not study much, when he learned that his child got 9 points in Literature, 9.25 points in History and 10 points in Geography, Trang's father Thinh was surprised and happy, but also sad because he felt sorry for his child who was born into poverty. As a father, he did not know what to do in this situation. Parents did not have money to send their child to school, but it was very pitiful to force her to drop out of school.
“There is no property in the house to sell, I can’t find any money to send my child to school, but I can’t bear to tell him to drop out. My fate is already miserable, I’m uneducated, I just hope my child can learn to read and write so that he will have a better life,” Trang’s father confided.

Mr. Tran Dang Huy - Secretary of Nghia Mai Commune Party Committee said: "Trang is the first person in Nghia Mai Commune to have such a high university entrance exam score, but she has extremely difficult circumstances. To share and help her, the Commune People's Committee has recognized Trang's situation as a red address for help. In addition, the Commune Party Committee, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee mobilized organizations and unions to participate."

Leaving the small house when the sun was setting, our hearts were heavy with the image of Mr. Thinh (Trang's father) sitting absent-mindedly in front of the house, his eyes looking as if waiting for a miracle. We understood that the miracle could come from the kind hearts and sharing of the community to help his daughter realize her dream of going to university.
