Musician Pho Duc Phuong passed away at noon on September 19 due to pancreatic cancer, at the age of 76.

MusicSinger Pho Duc Phuong, author of famous contemporary folk songs such as "Flowing River", "Going Home", "On the Top of Phu Van"... passed away at noon on September 19, 2020, at the age of 76. Singer Minh Thu, a close friend of the musician, confirmed that Pho Duc Phuong had passed away due to a serious illness.
Singer Minh Thu wrote on her personal page: "Farewell to the teacher I am grateful to for the rest of my life." Sharing with reporters, she said she was very saddened by the passing of the master musician.

Musician Pho Duc Phuong was born in 1944 in Hung Yen. It is known that musician Pho Duc Phuong discovered he had cancer in early 2020 and was treated wholeheartedly by the hospital.
During his illness, many famous artists came to visit.Singer My LinhHe was still taught to sing by him while he was in bed. Music programs were also held to honor and share with the musician, with the hope that he would overcome his illness.
In addition to his special talent in composing, musician Pho Duc Phuong is also known as the founder and director of the Vietnam Music Copyright Protection Center for many years.
The passing of musician Pho Duc Phuong is a great loss to contemporary Vietnamese folk music.
