Billion-dollar gambling ring busted.
Nguyen Tien Hung, 40 years old, headed an online gambling ring operating through betting, with total transactions estimated at over 1,000 billion VND.
On September 22nd, Hung was being held in temporary custody by the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security for questioning regarding his involvement in organizing the crime.gamblewith him playing the leading role. Nine other people involved are also under investigation.

According to the investigation results, Hung solicited capital to establish an online gambling system. After purchasing the main account from an overseas website, Hung hired Duong Manh Tuan to create and manage intermediary websites with servers located abroad, allowing gamblers to bet on sports, casino games, and other forms of gambling.
Players must create an account and deposit money into the system; when they win, they can convert their game points into cash.
Tuan confessed that he and several others were paid approximately 400-500 million VND per month to specialize in technical support, assisting players in creating accounts and withdrawing/depositing money converted from game points. In addition, six other people were hired to provide consulting and customer service.
Authorities estimate that the gambling ring operated by Hung had 3,888 active accounts since February 2019 with a total transaction amount exceeding 1 trillion VND.
