Prison sentence for brother-in-law who lost money gambling and pawned his sister-in-law's car

According to the indictment, at about 9:00 p.m. on May 20, 2020, Moong Van Dai(Born in 1991), residing in Khe Tang village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son districtborrowed a yellow-black YAMAHA SIRIUS motorbike, license plate 37K1 - 023.04 from Ms. Bui Thi Tam (Dai's sister-in-law) to go from Khe Tang village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district to visit Luu Phong village, Luu Kien commune, Tuong Duong district.

After sitting around for a while, Dai joined in.gamblingwith a group of young people here. After losing all his money, Dai pawned his motorbike to Quang Van Toai, residing in Con Muong village, Luu Kien commune, Tuong Duong district, for 3 million VND. Dai spent this money on gambling and was unable to redeem the motorbike.
After learning about the incident, Ms. Bui Thi Tam filed a complaint with the authorities denouncing Moong Van Dai's actions. The car was valued at 9 million VND by the Property Valuation Council - People's Committee of Ky Son district.
Based on the defendant's behavior and the proceedings at the trial, the panel sentenced Moong Van Dai to 10 months in prison for the crime of "Abuse of trust to appropriate property”. It is known that Moong Van Dai is a gambling addict in the area, has just been sentenced by the People's Court of Ky Son district to 6 months in prison for "Gambling", and while waiting to serve his sentence, he continued to commit the above crime./.
