Previously, in early July 2020, through the work of grasping the situation and reporting crimes by people in Vinh city, reflecting on the theft of motorbikes by criminals, including many cases of criminals breaking in late at night, breaking the door locks and stealing many expensive motorbikes such as Honda SH, Exiter... In order to quickly ensure security and order in the area, Vinh City Police established a special project to arrest criminals.

After a period of investigation and verification, more than 20 criminal investigators were "dispatched" to focus on grasping the situation of criminal and drug subjects in the city, and at the same time coordinating with other localities to review and set up dens and groups of subjects showing signs of activities related to property theft.

Through screening, 3 subjects emerged: Tran Van Huy (born in 1981), residing in Hung Trung commune (Hung Nguyen); Nguyen Van Hoang (born in 1991), residing in Nghi Hoa commune (Nghi Loc) and Dau Trang Nguyen (born in 1982), residing in Nghi Hoa (Nghi Loc). By October 1, 2020, the City Police arrested Tran Van Huy and Nguyen Van Hoang while they were living at their private home, while Dau Trang Nguyen is still in hiding, the City Police are focusing on arresting him.

Through the struggle, the subjects confessed to committing more than 60 cases.motorcycle theftin Nghe An province, of which 25 cases were carried out in Vinh city. The city police seized 30 motorbikes and 1 steam pliers, with an estimated total value of the motorbikes of about 450 million VND.

Among the more than 60 motorbike thefts, many cases involved people breaking into houses, using steam pliers to break the door locks, and using lock-breaking clamps to steal motorbikes. Typically, in the early morning of September 28, 2020, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hoai parked her SH Mode motorbike, license plate 37E1-426.35, at her rented room in Nghi Kim commune when Huy and Hung used steam pliers to break the gate, sneaked into the yard and stole it.

The leader of the Criminal Police Team (Vinh City Police) said: The two subjects Huy and Hoang were previously freelance workers in Ho Chi Minh City. Due to social distancing due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the subjects "drifted" back to their hometowns to steal motorbikes. Each time they committed a crime, they used the stolen motorbike as a means to continue to commit other motorbike thefts. Some nights, the subjects stole an average of 3-5 motorbikes.

After stealing the motorbikes, the subjects both sold them in Nghe An province and brought them to southern provinces and cities for sale.

Vinh City Police have established a working group to go directly to Ho Chi Minh City to verify and recover nearly 10 motorbikes that were stolen in Vinh City.
