Robber abandons motorbike while being chased by dozens of police
Tran Van Manh Hung, 24 years old, robbed a female student's phone in Can Loc district but was chased by dozens of police officers.
On the evening of October 3, Hung, residing in Thuong Nga commune, was being detained by Can Loc district police (Ha Tinh) to investigate the crime.Robbery, according to Article 168 of the 2015 Penal Code.

According to the investigation results, at around 8:00 p.m. on October 2, on an inter-commune road in Can Loc district, Hung discovered two female 7th grade students driving an electric motorbike, one of them holding a phone, so he chased after her and robbed her.
At that time, Can Loc District Police were on patrol and heard the cries for help from the two victims, so they mobilized more than 30 officers to chase and arrest them. Seeing the police, Hung abandoned his motorbike at the scene, ran into the village road and escaped.

Can Loc District Police later posted information about the incident on Facebook asking people to find Hung; the suspect was described as 1.65 m tall, thin, with thick, slightly curly hair. At 4:00 p.m. on October 3, Hung was arrested by police while hiding at Bo Bo slope, Vinh Phu village, Phu Loc commune, about 3 km from the initial scene.
Hung confessed that on the evening of October 1, he robbed a girl who was riding a motorbike of her phone using a similar method. Authorities determined that the property stolen in the two robberies was worth about 22 million VND.
