According to observations, many people's vegetable fields are still left empty, overgrown with weeds, many vegetable beds have not been tilled to produce new crops, and in some fields, people have not yet restored the roofs and supports that were broken after storm No. 5.

Mrs. Tran Thi Van, Vinh Xuan hamlet, sighed: "My family's 3 sao of winter vegetables were completely damaged after the flood, but the weather is erratic, especially heavy rains often appear, so people do not dare to reproduce for fear that the rain and wind will ruin the vegetable crop again."

Currently, people do not dare to plant the main winter vegetables such as green cabbage, lettuce, chrysanthemum, coriander... because the time from sowing to harvesting usually lasts 1 month, if during the growing process there is heavy rain, causing flooding, it is considered a total loss. That is also the reason why 50% of the vegetable growing area in this vegetable region is left fallow.

In the remaining area, people are currently cultivating the land and growing only one type of vegetable, mustard greens, which has the advantage of a short harvest time, only about a week to harvest. However, because the price of mustard green seeds this year has increased to a record high, many people do not dare to invest heavily.

Ms. Thin, a vegetable grower, said: 2 months ago, the price of mustard seeds was only 38,000 VND/kg, but after the recent storm, it skyrocketed to 72,000 VND/kg. If people do not grow vegetables, they will have no income, but if they grow them at this time, the cost is high, people are afraid of not making a profit so they do not dare to grow a lot.
