(Baonghean) - In the past 5 years (2016 - 2020), many large enterprises such as VSIP, WHA, TH Milk, Vingroup, Sungoup, The Vissai, Hoa Sen, Massan, FLC, Luxshare ICT, T&T, Muong Thanh, Thien Minh Duc... have invested effectively in Nghe An, said Mr. Bui Duy Dong - Director of the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion.

PV:Investment attraction plays a very important role in the socio-economic development of Nghe An. Could you tell us about the most outstanding results in this field in the past 5 years of your province?
Comrade Bui Duy Dong:Investment attraction always plays an important role in the socio-economic development of localities; especially in provinces with great potential but lacking development investment resources such as Nghe An, investment attraction is the key and driving force to promote economic growth, job creation and social security.
In recent times, with the attention and support of the Central Government, Nghe An province has made great efforts in investment promotion. The province has promptly supplemented mechanisms and policies to attract investment, directed drastic improvements to the open investment and business environment, creating the most favorable conditions for enterprises and investors. Thereby, it has become a major center of the country in food processing (dairy cow farming associated with milk processing, sugar and fruit processing, etc.); forest product processing; production of construction materials, cement, etc.
In the period of 2016 - 2020, the province attracted 532 registered investment projects with a total capital of 67,308 billion VND, increasing both in quantity and quality of projects compared to the previous period; increasing the proportion of projects with large contributions to the State budget.
Many domestic and foreign enterprises and economic groups with potential, brands and prestige have come to survey and invest in Nghe An such as: VSIP, WHA, TH Milk, Vingroup, Sungoup, The Vissai, Hoa Sen, Massan, FLC, Luxshare ICT, T&T, Muong Thanh, Thien Minh Duc...
Many key projects have been started, completed and put into operation such as MDF Wood Factory, Hoa Sen Nghe An Factory,DKC Petroleum Depot, electronic component factories of foreign investors. In particular, Nghe An province has attracted investment projects in industrial park infrastructure such as VSIP, WHA, Hoang Thinh Dat; solving the "bottleneck" of clean land in attracting investment.

PV:The Nghe An Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center was newly established on April 13, 2020. Could you tell us what innovations the Center has made in performing its functions and tasks?
Comrade Bui Duy Dong:Nghe An Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centerwas established on the basis of merging the Investment Promotion and Support Center (under the Provincial People's Committee), the Enterprise Support and Development Center (under the Department of Planning and Investment), the Tourism Promotion Information Center (under the Department of Tourism), and the Trade Promotion Center (under the Department of Industry and Trade). The main function of this new center is to be the focal point for synthesizing, advising the Provincial People's Committee to promulgate, direct and organize the implementation of programs and plans for investment, trade, tourism promotion and enterprise development in the province; the focal point for providing information, guidance and support for investors in researching and implementing projects.
Immediately after announcing its establishment and coming into operation, the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center has proactively implemented tasks according to the 2020 plan in each assigned field. In addition, the Center has innovated its thinking and perspective on investment promotion and attraction, considering investors as the target of service. Integrating all three fields of investment, trade and tourism into promotion activities for synchronization and efficiency. In investment promotion, the focus is on selecting key contents, partners and markets; in line with the movement trends of investment flows and migration waves.
Focus on promoting local investment through supporting and removing difficulties and obstacles for ongoing projects. Strengthen coordination with industrial park infrastructure investors to promote and attract secondary investors.
In addition, the Center has increased work with districts, cities, and towns; surveyed the potential and strengths of each locality. The Center is committed to supporting localities inBrand buildingSpecialty products, labels and promotion channels, sales; support tourism promotion and business development.

PV:In the context of the current difficult economic situation, what solutions will the Center implement to support investors and businesses?
