Landslide at Cho slope on Highway 7

(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the impact of heavy rain in recent days, the road section passing through Cho slope on National Highway 7, in Lang Khe commune, Con Cuong district (Nghe An) has been continuously affected by landslides.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Yen - Head of Con Cuong Road Management Department said: From about 8:00 a.m. on October 17, on National Highway 7, at km 110+850 passing through Bong village, Lang Khe commune,Con Cuong districtA landslide occurred. Immediately after the incident, the traffic management unit mobilized machinery and human resources to promptly clear the road.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Yen, the biggest difficulty now is the prolonged rain.landslidecontinuously occur in the Cho slope area, every 2-3 hours, machines must be used to shovel the mud and soil that has overflowed onto the road once to ensure traffic. If heavy rain continues, the risk of landslides and burying this entire road section can occur at any time.

To ensure the safety of people and vehicles traveling through Cho slope, the traffic management unit, in addition to being ready to mobilize machinery and human resources to level the slope, also coordinates with local authorities to place warning signs and be on duty 24/7 to prevent vehicles from passing when there is a dangerous situation.
