On October 20, the Military Region 4 Command said,Funeral of 22 officers and soldiersThe martyrs who died while performing their duties to help people overcome the consequences of floods in Huong Phung commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province will be held according to military protocol; a centralized funeral will be hosted by the Military Region 4 Command; Quang Tri Province Multi-purpose Gymnasium. The visitation is scheduled from 7am to 10am on October 22. The memorial service and procession will be from 10am to 11am.

A day before, all the bodies of 22 buried officers and soldiers were found. Of the 22 people, 8 officers and soldiers were from Nghe An.
