Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue inspected the situation at Ram Mountain and Ray Mountain in Hung Yen Nam Commune (Hung Nguyen).
Due to the impact of storm No. 9, accompanied by heavy rain, many large cracks have appeared in the Ray mountain area, with a total length of more than 60m. The cracks run along the mountainside, posing a high risk of landslides. At the foot of the mountain is the residential area of hundreds of households in hamlets 3, 4, 5, Hung Yen Nam commune.

In that situation, to ensure the safety of the people, Hung Nguyen district issued an emergency evacuation order for 39 households, 137 people of 3 hamlets to a safe place. Hung Nguyen district also mobilized a force of more than 100 people including the army, police, militia... to help people evacuate and transport assets to a safe place.
Assessing the cracks as very dangerous, with a high risk of causing landslides, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung requested Hung Nguyen district to urgently organize the evacuation of households, especially the elderly and children in the dangerous area to a safe place before the evening of October 29.

The evacuation plan for households subject to evacuation has been arranged by the district and commune authorities to stay at the village cultural house or school area. For now, many households will go to relatives' houses in safe areas to live and wait until after the rain to return home.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the evacuation of people must be carried out quickly and decisively. For households that deliberately delay, coercive measures must be taken with the highest goal of ensuring the safety of people's lives. The departments coordinate with Hung Nguyen district to assess the level of landslides and develop a plan, reporting to the Provincial People's Committee to have a plan to handle when the storm passes.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactiveness of the people in promptly reporting cracks to the local authorities. At the same time, he requested Hung Nguyen district, Hung Yen Nam commune, and relevant agencies to regularly monitor the situation, conduct inspections and reviews of vulnerable areas, and fully prepare the "4 on-site" plan to promptly handle unexpected situations.
Hung Nguyen District's Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command regularly reports the situation to the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command to have timely handling plans.

Reporting to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the leader of Cua Lo town said that due to the impact of storm No. 7, the coastal breakwater and the pedestrian embankment were seriously eroded and subsided.
Of which, the coastal breakwater built with rubble has been eroded and severely damaged for about 2.5 km; the breakwater walkway has been damaged and collapsed for about 300m; the sea foot embankment has been eroded for about 500m; the walkway has been damaged and collapsed for about 500m.2Total property damage was about 12 billion VND.

Assessing the landslide and subsidence of the embankment and walkway as very serious, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Cua Lo town to urgently organize the evacuation of people and property at kiosks along the coast to a safe place. Absolutely do not let people stay in the kiosks.
To overcome the above landslides and subsidence points, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung suggested that Cua Lo town re-evaluate the situation and develop a repair plan to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval. The repair work must be completed before the new tourist season begins.
