Super typhoon Goni with gusts above level 17 is entering the East Sea
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently (October 31), in the sea east of the Philippines there is a super typhoon (international name Goni) active.
At 7:00 a.m. on October 31, the center positionSuper Typhoon Goniat about 15.3 degrees North latitude; 128.8 degrees East longitude, about 810km East of Lu Dong Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the center of the super typhoon is level 17 (200-220km/h), gusting above level 17.
In the next 24 hours, the storm is forecast to move west-southwest at 20-25km per hour. At 7am on November 1, the storm's eye was at approximately 13.8 degrees north latitude; 123.5 degrees east longitude, in the central Philippines. The strongest wind near the storm's eye is level 15 (165-185km/h), gusting to level 17.
In the next 24 to 48 hours, the storm will move mainly westward, at about 20km per hour, entering the East Sea. At 7am on November 2, the storm's center was at about 14.5 degrees North latitude; 118.7 degrees East longitude, about 750km East Southeast of Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the storm's center is level 10-11 (90-115km/h), gusting to level 13.
During the next 48 to 72 hours, the storm will move westward at a speed of 15-20km per hour. At 7:00 a.m. on November 3, the storm center was located at approximately 15.3 degrees North latitude; 114.9 degrees East longitude, approximately 330km East Southeast of the Hoang Sa archipelago.Wind powerThe strongest area near the storm center is level 10 (90-100km/h), gusting to level 12.
