Evaluation of e-Government and Smart City implementation in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 12, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session with the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel Group) to evaluate the implementation of e-Government and Smart City programs in Nghe An province.

On January 22, 2019, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and Viettel Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on application and development of information technology (IT) and telecommunications, period 2019-2023, with 5 contents including: Building and developing IT and telecommunications infrastructure; Building IT application solutions; Building solutions to ensure information security and network security; On developing IT human resources; Coordination in propaganda work.

After nearly 2 years of implementing the Cooperation Agreement, the two sides have achieved remarkable initial results.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has directed all levels, sectors and localities to create favorable conditions for Viettel Nghe An in developing telecommunications - IT network infrastructure, organizing conferences to remove difficulties for businesses in general and Viettel Nghe An in particular.
In particular, the Provincial People's Committee has also issued many documents, programs, plans, projects and proposals related to telecommunications - IT, contributing to orienting businesses to develop in accordance with local realities and central regulations in granting licenses to build BTS stations.

Vietnam Military Industry and Telecommunications Group has also basically built and completed the infrastructure, always ready to provide services to deploy e-Government of Nghe An province. Viettel Nghe An has built nearly 1,413 BTS stations (2G/3G/4G), covering 95% of the province's natural area, the 4G mobile information network alone has covered 100% of the district and commune centers in the province; developed and expanded the fiber optic cable network of all kinds with more than 10,500 km to 100% of the communes in the province, ensuring service provision for 240,784 customers.

At the same time, Viettel has advised and supported the People's Committee of Nghe An province in the process of building and promoting the application of IT and telecommunications for priority areas including Education, Health, Transportation, Tourism, Information Security - in a smart, comprehensive direction on the basis of integrating and inheriting existing results.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy General Director of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group Nguyen Thanh Nam said that Nghe An is one of the first provinces to deploy 5G.
